From April 1, the aviation security fee for domestic passengers are going to be Rs 200. Currently, it’s 160 rupees. Talking about international travelers, the fee for these will increase from $ 5.2 to $ 12. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has increased the aviation security fee for international passengers by Rs 114.38. These rates will apply to tickets issued from April 1, 2021.

It is known that the airlines collect the ASF at the time of booking the ticket and submit it to the govt. This amount is employed on the safety arrangements at airports across the country.

Security fees were also increased in 2019 and 2020

Earlier, from 1 September 2020, the Ministry of Civil Aviation decided to charge more aviation security fees (ASF) from domestic and international aircraft passengers. Then the ASF for domestic air passengers was reduced to Rs 160 rather than Rs 150. At an equivalent time, for international travelers, it had been $ 5.2 rather than $ 4.85. The ministry had announced on June 7, 2019, that the ASF for domestic passengers would be increased from Rs 130 to Rs 150, while for international passengers the quantity would be $ 4.85 rather than $ 3.25. These rates came into effect from Dominion Day, 2019.

These travelers will get discounts

However, some passengers are exempted from payment. These include children under two years old, diplomatic passport holders, on-duty airline crew, and transit passengers taking a second flight within 24 hours of the primary flight via one ticket.

Recently, the central government had announced to extend the minimum fare of domestic flights by five percent. This increase are going to be applicable till the top of April. Behind this, the fuel of the airplane is claimed to be expensive. aside from this, the govt has ordered domestic airlines to stay 80 percent capacity of passengers.
