The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its manifesto for the upcoming Assam assembly elections on Tuesday. BJP national president JP Nadda released the manifesto at an occasion in Guwahati within the presence of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Assam minister of finance Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP’s Assam in-charge Baijayant Panda, and state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass.

BJP has made 11 commitments to the people of Assam in its manifesto:

  1. Mission Brahmaputra, under this scheme BJP will build big reservoirs around the river to conserve extra water and save the people from floods
  2. Under the Orunodoi scheme, 30 lakh deserving families are going to be paid support of Rs 3,000 per month, up from Rs 830.
  3. BJP has committed to prevent illegal encroachments from Namghars and help them with Rs 2.5 lakh each for correct reconstruction.
  4. Mission Shishu Unnayan, under which BJP is promised to providing quality education to children of Assam.
  5. The party will provide cycles to girl children of Govt. school after Class VIII.
  6. BJP to figure towards a “corrected NRC” to guard “genuine Indian citizens” and “detect infiltrated people”.

  7. Speed up the delimitation process.
  8. Assam Aahar Aatmanirbharta initiative to form Assam self-sufficient
  9. Job opportunities for youth: Assam will become the fastest job creator state within the country, says Nadda. BJP has committed to supply 2 lakh jobs within the public sector, of which 1 lakh will get jobs by March 31, 2022. it’ll also provide 8 lakh jobs within the private sector.
  10. Entrepreneur schools are going to be developed, alongside the proper support and environment.
  11.  BJP committed to empowering citizens with land rights for a better life.
