The new CM of Assam: BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma has been elected the next Chief Minister of Assam. He took oath of the post of CM in Guwahati on Monday i.e. Monday. Himanta Biswa Sarma is an alumnus of the Cotton University in Assam. Till now there are 15 Chief Ministers of Assam, of which 7 are students of this university. the primary Chief Minister of Assam, Gopinath Bordoloi, also came out from this university.
Cotton University was the first cotton college, which was recognized by Himanta Biswa Sarma, the then Minister of Education in 2017. Himanta Biswa Sarma joined Cotton College, Guwahati after completing his studies from Kamarupa Academy School. Himanta Biswa Sarma did his graduation in 1990 and post-graduation in politics from Cotton College in 1992.
Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in because the Chief Minister of Assam today. Governor Jagdish Mukhi administered him the oath. The new cabinet was sworn in at Srimanta Shankar Dev Kalakshetra. On Sunday, Himanta Biswa Sarma was unanimously elected because the leader of the BJP Legislature Party then the NDA Legislature Party in Assam. BJP’s national president JP Nadda also attended his swearing-in ceremony today. At a similar time, many other senior leaders including JP Nadda also are involved. along side Sarma, many ministers were also sworn in.
Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar also attended the legislature party meeting on Sunday. aside from this, party general secretary Arun Singh was also present there. After the meeting was over, Narendra Singh Tomar said, “I unanimously declare Himanta Biswa Sarma because the leader of the Legislature Party.” He further said, “We can pay more attention to the event of the state and can try our greatest to boost the expectations of the people.” At the same time, Sarbananda Sonowal resigned from the post of Chief Minister before the Legislature Party meeting started.
