When Team India will take on the field against New Zealand for the final match, the record of 89 years will be broken. In fact, for the first time in Team India Test history, it will play a Test match at a neutral place.

Till date, India has not played a Test match at any neutral place in 89 years of Test history. It is known that out of the 12 countries with Test status from the International Cricket Council (ICC), only two countries have not played a Test match at neutral venue so far. Bangladesh is included in it besides India. India will be left out of this list after the match against New Zealand on 18 June.

Given the security threat, no series has been held in Pakistan for more than a decade. So Pakistan has organized most of its series either in UAE or Sri Lanka. This is the reason why most countries played Test matches at the neutral venue.

There was not a single Test match between India and Pakistan after 2007.

Here, not a single Test match has been played between India and Pakistan after 2007. There is ongoing tension between the two countries behind this. India had a chance to play a Test match at the neutral venue earlier in 1999, but the Indian team could not make it to the final of the Asian Test Championship.

First match played at neutral venue 109 years ago

The test match was held for the first time 109 years ago at the neutral venue. In which the teams of Australia and South Africa met face to face. The first neutral Test match was played between the two teams in Manchester on 27–28 May 1912. Australia won that match by an innings and 88 runs in two days.

Pakistan’s record for playing Test at the most neutral venue

Pakistan holds the record for playing the most Test matches at the neutral venue. Actually, no team wants to go there due to security threat in Pakistan. Therefore, Pakistan is organizing most of its matches in UAE. Therefore Pakistan is the most played in 20 Test matches at neutral venue.
